Community Outreach

The Community Outreach Committee is dedicated to connect Arden residents with valuable resources that could benefit their specific needs. Our mission is to educate the community about its two organizations, the Arden Community Association (ACA) and Arden Beaches, Inc. (ABI), and notify residents of community events, activities, volunteer opportunities, development issues affecting our community, and special causes.
New Resident Welcome Packets
It's so important to make sure our new residents feel welcome and are provided with important resources and information about our two community organizations and the difference between them. Welcome packets are delivered regularly by ACA Section Delegates, and when possible, in conjunction with the respective ABI Section Beach Representative. We are here to help educate you in your new community.
Our Community Outreach will focus on the following:
Connect residents to County resources available for their benefit (Dept of Aging; Libraries; Public Works).
Connect residents to other local resources available to benefit residents with specific needs.
Research and schedule guests and speakers for ACA meetings.
Schedule special training opportunities (e.g., first aid/CPR/seasonal safety, etc.)
Work with other ACA committees to advertise events and connect residents in need with community programs and services being offered
Work with Arden Beaches, Inc. (ABI) on the decimation of information pertaining to Arden's private beach properties and the operation thereof.

AACo Council is the elected legislative body of the county and is vested with the lawmaking power thereof... (AA County Charter, Section 306).
AACo Crisis Response System promotes a mission to provide leadership and collaboration for planning, monitoring, and managing of a comprehensive, quality, person-centered, Behavioral Health continuum of care for Mental Health and Substance Use Disorders that promotes prevention, recovery, resiliency, health and wellness for our residents who have, or who are at risk for, these behavioral health disorders.
How to Report Illegal Dumping in Maryland
Illegal dumping is a serious offense that can result in criminal prosecution. Illegal dumping is the disposal of trash generated at one location and disposed of at another location without legal permission. This includes dumping yard waste, appliances, tires and other garbage in alleys, dumpsters, vacant lots and open desert locations. Every case of illegal dumping is investigated. Illegal dumpers are subject to a minimum $500 civil fine and possible criminal prosecution. Illegal dumping can be costly, but the costs of legal disposal are minimal (if incurred at all).

988 - Suicide & Crisis Lifeline
Beginning July 16th, the new 988 Suicide and Crisis Prevention Lifeline is available nationwide. Anyone in the United States can call or text 988 to talk to mental health counselors and receive confidential and free support 24/7/365.
Anne Arundel County residents can still access the Anne Arundel County Mental Health Agency, Inc. Community Warmline at 410-768-5522. This valuable community resource is not going anywhere, but we are grateful the easy to remember 988 number will now be available to help ensure that everyone can access the help they need, whenever they need it.

When Is My Trash & Recycling Collection?
Curbside Collection service for trash, recycling, and yard waste occurs every Friday (unless otherwise specified on the County calendar). All curbside collection material must be placed at the curb the evening before to ensure timely collection. Please follow the County guidelines for trash, recycling, and yard waste collection.

Septic Systems in Arden
None of the homes within Arden are attached to a public water supply or waste (septic) disposal system. Each home is attached to its own private septic system, buried below ground on your property. It can fail if you do not maintain it, so take a few moments to read the Homeowners Guide to Septic Systems published by the USEPA.

At the local level, Arden is in the County's 4th Councilman District. On the state level we are in the 33rd Legislative District. At the federal level we are split between the 3rd Congressional District the 1st Congressional District. Find your voting location now.
Dog Rules & Mindfulness
Let's face it, our dogs are family members too. However, not everyone is a dog lover and we must be mindful and respectful of our neighbors when it comes to our pets, cats included. Take a moment to familiarize yourself with the laws related to pets.
Be aware and refresh your memories with the Arden Beaches, Inc. (ABI) rules you acknowledge and agree to follow during the annual registration process does not permit pets (dogs) on our community beaches. There are also signs posted at each beach to remind everyone. Dogs that are leashed (by law) in the parking lot or loading on or off a boat at one of our piers/ramps is the only exception. Please be mindful that not everyone is a dog lover or wants to sit in or have their kids play in the sand where dogs have peed or pooped. This rule is not new, and as a matter of fact, it has been a consistent rule from the start of our private beaches here in Arden. Be considerate of your neighbors and fellow beach-goers and follow the rule. And remember to always clean up after your dog.
